In the summer of 2010, Koji and I retreated to Drasik Studios in Chicago for 7 days.

We set aside 5 days for tracking and 2 days for mixing. 10 hour days, which Koji and I would split into 5 hour bricks for each of us to focus on our sides of the record.

The recording session was joyous and fully collaborative. It celebrated Koji and I's friendship which had existed for nearly a decade at that point. No one involved had any pre-determined notion of how special these songs would become to us or to so many other people. It was just an awesome excuse to pile as many friends as possible into a room and make something.

To date, one of my favorite recording experiences I'd ever had.
